Document Despatch - Meet the Team

Leigh Foster - Managing Director Leigh joined Document Despatch in 2001. He was promoted to Commercial Director in 2004 and Managing Director in 2008. He has worked in various roles within the print and direct mail industry for 25 years, over 15 years at senior management level. We have a very proactive focused team at Document Despatch who ensure our customers quite rightly receive excellent service. Document Despatch has the infrastructure, processes, and commitment to meet those expectations.
Mike Orman - Production Manager Mike joined the company six years ago as Production Manager and his responsibilities include our data, print, warehouse and production activities. As an experienced manager and qualified mechanical engineer Mike has enabled Document Despatch to implement new technologies and equipment to offer more cost effective mailing solutions whilst ensuring our highest quality standards have been maintained. Whilst not at work Mike is either going to the gym, following motor sport or looking for new exotic locations to take his next holiday.
Sarah Longman - Sales & Customer Services Manager Sarah is responsible for managing the Sales, Marketing and Customer Service activity at DD having joined in May 2005. Enthusiastic and driven, Sarah is 100% committed to DD, its success and ability to deliver the best service possible. When not at work Sarah is doting Mum to 6 year old Grace. Sarah spends a lot of spare time figure skating having trained for 20+ years, and also enjoys anything to do with family and friends, food and drink, art and design, being by the sea, and playing in mud at music festivals!
Debbie Sampson - Account Manager Debbie has hands-on knowledge of production, having started as a part-time production assistant when her children were small. 16 years on, she is now one of the longest serving of our team members, with a wealth of experience. She’s a bit of a knowledge nerd and enjoys a challenge she’s known in customer services as our Google expert. Away from work, Debbie enjoys our natural environment and has an interest in wildlife and conservation. She also enjoys watching sports and is an Aston Villa fan.
Erica Darby - Account Manager Erica is one of the two 'new' girls having joined the company just over a year ago in October 2008. With many years customer facing experience in the design industry, she naively thought that direct mail was just stuffing letters in envelopes. Now older and wiser Erica is happy to discuss any mailing requirements you may have, secure in the knowledge that the Document Despatch team will find a way of fulfilling your brief. Having missed the gap year experience, Erica decided to handle her mid life crisis by taking off around the world starting from Moscow.
Carol Webster - Account Manager Carol is our other resident ‘new girl’ having joined DD in October 2008 at the same time as Erica. She is not new to the industry having spent 30 plus years in customer service roles within the print industry. Over this period Carol has built up a vast number of contacts within the trade, and it never ceases to amaze the rest of the team that Carol seems to know almost everyone that walks through our doors! Carol is extremely organised (bordering relentless) and never falters when under pressure. Carols guilty pleasures are custard donuts and Frank Lampard (the rest of the team have to endure his calendar all year round). Outside of work Carol is very happy spending quality time with her family, and enjoys a weekly aerobics class to counteract the effects of the custard donuts!!!
Karen Cooper - Receptionist/Administrator As our receptionist, Karen is the friendly voice of DD! Karen’s role however encompasses a lot more then reception duties… she is responsible for all of our postal docketing and relevant administration, and provides a fantastic level of support to our account team and customers. Whether that's arranging deliveries, liaising with our suppliers, looking after our visitors or keeping us all fuelled with coffee - we'd be lost without her!
Fiona Hallinan - Accounts Manager Fi has the crucial job of managing all our purse strings. For over six years Fi has been responsible for all of our invoicing, credit control, supplier payments and payroll Fi has an extremely busy role that she makes look easy with her efficiency and excellent organisational skills. Fi also has the important job of arranging our Christmas party!
Val Beaumont - Telesales Executive Val joined DD late 2008 so was our Christmas present last year! Val is responsible for all of our telemarketing, making a vast amount of calls daily to our prospects a crucial role in the growth and development of our business. Val absolutely loves her job which comes across over the phone in her bright and bubbly nature no reading from a script, no targeting on call stats Val knows that in order to connect over the phone she needs to treat every call individually and fully understand our prospects requirements to form lasting relationships. Outside of DD Val is a loving Mum to her two Sons, and enjoys socialising with friends.
Stuart Douglas - Data Team Leader Stuart joined the companies data department 11 years ago fresh out of college and two years later became the departments team leader. With a logical mind and an eye for detail Stuart manages all the databases and complicated projects. Skilled with programming and an almost magical understanding of computers & software, he is known at times as "The Oracle".
Ann Mosdell - Production Team Leader Ann joined Document Despatch 20 years ago and is our longest serving employee. Ann started as a conscientious outworker and has progressed through the company working in various roles in production including our hand area, machine labelling, inserting machine, senior machine operator and eventually to Team Leader four years ago. Over this period Ann has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience, which has equipped her to effectively lead the production team. Out of work Ann enjoys sewing, knitting and cooking as well as walking her “high maintenance red head” spaniel and seeing her four grandchildren.
Jason White - Graphics Manager Jason has been with us for 10 years having spent 10 years prior to that working in the print industry. Jason manages all our in-house laser and digital print requirements from preparing proofs to ensuring everything is printed and with our production team on time! Jason’s vast experience and skills ensure that the equipment is always working to its full potential. Jason has described himself as ‘an adaptable person that can deal with people at all levels’ we however know that means he is our resident ‘cheeky chappie’ that we can always rely on for a giggle! Jason enjoys the outdoors, has a livestock of 20 chickens and wears shorts 365 days of the year!
Brian Hill - Warehouse Manager From a background of more than 35 years in Warehousing and Distribution with companies such as The AA and Exel Logistics Brian joined Document Despatch 12 years ago. His vast experience ensures the safe arrival, storage, stock control and despatch of our customer’s items. When not at his post in the warehouse, Brian can be found at Wembley supporting the England team or at home fiddling with astronomical telescopes or computers.
Data and print team Working alongside Stuart in data processing is Dave who has been with us for the past 10 years. Nicola and Sharon both carry out our data entry projects which can range from managing customer returns to updating databases with hand written questionnaires, applications or vouchers! Julie has, over the past 12 years worked in our hand and production areas, and now works alongside Jason in managing all our customers print requirements.
